Five Must Haves

What are the Five Items that you must have before leaving the house?

Here are mine:

1. My phone- Samsung Focus- had to upgrade from my Blackberry when my husband upgraded to the iPhone.

2. My wallet- This was one was a Christmas gift from my mom- and a much needed upgrade. My purse was stolen in October- and even though it was recovered, I was convinced it had bad juju. I am such a Vera Bradley girl, and treat myself to a new one every spring. Anywho... Without the wallet nothing happens. No driving- No spending.... Enough said!

3. My planner. It's navy and very plain- but I love it and it's a must have.

4. Hand Wipes.... No I am not a germaphobic, but I am the mother of an almost 3 year old boy. That alone equals lots of messes. One must be prepared.

5. My lip gloss. NYC Lippin' Large Lip Plumper... Purchase it at Wal-Mart, Target, or any decent chain drug store. My shade is Toffee Kiss. It looks super natural, and gives just a little shine. Plus it like 1/3 of the price of the BareMinerals Buxom Big and Healthy Lip Polish and works just as good.

Today is My Friday!

After many many months of living a crazy life of someone who works in the mortgage industry, I have finally scheduled some much needed and deserved time off ~ Long weekend here I come!!
I am especially looking forward to Thursday- a day that involves NO PLANS. Just me, my couch, and my TV. Woo-Hoo!!

The time is now!

I, like most people have a list of things that I want to accomplish in life. These are different that resolutions because I have been compiling these for a great portion of my life. At the top of the list is getting my Masters degree. I have want to do this, since I completed my B.A. 7 years ago.
I work for a great company, and would like to be able to stay with this company, but moving up is going to require a Masters degree.
Luckily, my husband is alright with the time and money investment that this will take- but am I? I already spend way to much time at work, which equates to a constant flow of never ending "mommy-guilt". But an investment of this proportion could equal great things... or in today's job market it could just mean I am a over-educated employee sitting in the same office.
I am torn.... Climb the corporate ladder or stay grounded?

On a different note this cold, grey, yucky weather we have been experiencing over the past couple of weeks has turned into major cabin fever for Ben. He is an outside kid- he loves to run, ride his scooter, swim, whatever as long as it involves outside.... But it's just to freakin' cold!!!
So in an effort to curb the cabin fever from getting worse - I finally found him a tumbling class that we have started, and tomorrow is a trip to the aquarium. Yes people Myrtle Beach is family fun- but it doesn't offer much in the way of indoor entertainment.

Tonight is Family Movie Night with my two favorite people~ chili for supper, followed by popcorn and candy!! At least the cold weather allows for opportunities like this.... even if my heating unit is tired from constantly running!!

So this blogging thing...

This whole blogging thing is a little more time consuming that I realized. I have been wanting to update all week about my progress on my New Year Resolutions- and there has just been no time!!

But here we are... 9:30 on Friday night. Such an exciting life I lead...

This week at work I have become less of a doormat, and more like one of those shoe scrubber things that you use to clean to the bottom of your shoes with before you go in the house. But this is progress people!!

I have a pile of coupons ready to be cut and stacked, and we have decided to do a Disney Cruise.

Since it's only 7 days into 2011- I think I'm doing well!

Tomorrow we have big plans! I am taking Ben over to Target to spend his gift card that he got for Christmas.

Happy Weekend!
Beth

And here are the resolutions!!

This year I have many resolutions!! Some of them are small, but they are all worth making a resolution because it's something that I want to achieve.....So here they are.
1. To no longer be a doormat at work- At some point during 2010 I went from being a hard worker to being a doormat. I love my job, work for a great company, and have wonderful co-workers~ so needless to say I didn't like the way this left me feeling. Change is coming in 2011!!
2. Exercise... I WANT to exercise. And I have a extremely active almost 3 year old. So in a effort for motivation, and doing something my little man enjoys, I have signed me and BT up for the Family Fun Run on Friday February 18th. It's only a mile, but it's an awesome way to start!!
3. Enjoying my little man that is growing way to fast. I love being a mom more than anything I could have ever imagined. And I have the coolest little man ever. But I tend to let work and life get in my way, and then I have a huge case of "mommy guilt"... My goal is to get a better balance of work and life. Is that even possible???
4. Going on a real vacation. Since BT was born we have only done weekend trips. So this year we are planning a real vacation!! We are down to Disney World vs. a Disney Cruise. My vote is for the cruise because it's like a vacation in a vacation!! Mr. C's vote is for Disney World... but I am wearing him down!!
5. Clipping coupons. I did this really good in the early part of 2010. Then I got side-tracked, and never got back on track.
I know coupons annoy some people, but it's like throwing away free money- and who likes to throw away money!!
